The Subclass 888 Visa is the permanent stage of Australia’s Business Innovation and Investment Program, available to holders of the Subclass 188 visa. If you’ve successfully managed a business or maintained qualifying investments in Australia under the 188 visa, this visa allows you and your family to stay permanently, and eventually apply for Australian citizenship.
What is the Subclass 888 Visa?
This visa lets entrepreneurs, investors, and business owners who have already proven their commitment to Australia under the provisional 188 visa to obtain permanent residency.
You do not need to submit a new Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Subclass 888. You must, however, continue to be nominated by a state or territory government agency.

For those who operated a successful business in Australia under Subclass 188A.Investor Stream
For individuals who maintained an eligible investment of at least AUD 2.5 million for the required duration (188B).Significant Investor Stream

General Eligibility Requirements
Must hold a valid Subclass 188 visa in the corresponding stream
Have fulfilled the business/investment activity in Australia for at least the required period (usually 2-4 years)
Maintain an ongoing commitment to Australia
Meet the residency requirements (for some streams)
Comply with state or territory nomination conditions
Have no history of unacceptable business activities
Meet health and character requirements
